Program Description: Leather & Concho Belt Workshop The Leather & Concho Belt Workshop offers a meaningful, hands-on cultural experience that connects participants to the traditional Indigenous art of leatherwork and Concho belt making. This workshop celebrates both skill and spirit, reflecting teachings of patience, pride, and storytelling through craftsmanship. Guided by skilled Indigenous artisans, participants will explore foundational techniques such as leather cutting, stamping, dyeing, finishing, and the intricate process of attaching conchos—decorative metal discs rich with both aesthetic and cultural meaning. Throughout the workshop, participants will learn how traditional craftsmanship carries stories of resilience, identity, and connection to the land. Participants will have the opportunity to create personalized leather items, including: Traditional and modern belts Gun straps Arm cuffs and dancing bells Knife sheaths Guitar straps This workshop is perfect for conferences, gatherings, community events, and educational workshops, offering an engaging and culturally enriching experience suitable for all ages.
