Service Description

Program Overview Indigenous Canoe Quest is a transformational land-based learning experience that reconnects participants to the land, water, and spirit through canoe travel, cultural teachings, and survival skills. Guided by Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and land-based specialists, participants embark on a journey that combines traditional knowledge and modern safety practices, creating a holistic experience that strengthens identity, confidence, and cultural pride. Each journey is an opportunity to learn, grow, and heal — through canoeing, camping, ceremony, and living off the land. The Canoe Quest teaches respect for the water, the land, and all living beings while fostering teamwork, leadership, and connection to ancestral ways of life. Learning Outcomes By the end of the Canoe Quest, participants will: Gain practical canoe, camping, and survival skills Develop a deep connection to the land, water, and spirit Strengthen their cultural identity and confidence Understand traditional laws, protocols, and environmental stewardship Experience teamwork, leadership, and community through shared challenge and ceremony Walk away with a renewed sense of pride, balance, and belonging Program Options The Indigenous Canoe Quest can be customized to meet community or organizational needs: 1-Day Introduction: Canoe safety, culture, and teamwork on the water 3-Day Immersion: Camping, paddling, survival, and ceremony 5-Day Cultural Expedition: Full land-based experience with hunting, fishing, and traditional teachings 7–10 Day Leadership Journey: Advanced paddling, spiritual teachings, and youth mentorship training Each journey is tailored to participant age, ability, and community goals — guided in partnership with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and certified instructors. Guiding Principles Water is Life – The river carries our prayers and teachings. Culture is Medicine – Healing flows through language, song, and ceremony. Respect for the Land – Every step and paddle stroke honors creation. Community and Teamwork – We travel farther when we paddle together. Learning by Doing – Knowledge grows through experience on the land. Through canoeing, ceremony, and living off the land, participants rediscover the teachings of their ancestors while building the confidence and resilience to guide future generations.


Cancellation Policy

We understand plans can change. To help us serve everyone effectively, please notify us at least 7 days before your scheduled booking for programing & services for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations: Cancel 7 days or more in advance for a full refund or credit toward a future program. Cancel within 7 days of the start date, refunds may be limited or unavailable due to planning and resources. No refunds for no-shows. Rescheduling: Requests to reschedule made 7 days or more before your program will be accommodated whenever possible. Rescheduling requests within 7 days are subject to availability and may incur additional fees. Please contact us if you have any questions or special circumstances.
